This 'Three flags-italian version' was inspired by the artwok 'Three flags' (1958, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York) made by Jasper Johns (example pic at [link]).
Johns' artwork is known in all over the world as a powerful example of the american pop art.
I love pop art, and this is my tribute to it. And to my flag, too.
I know this is not a particularly original work, and that's the challenge...
If you do something not so 'original', it's the technical side of your work that is judged by people...
I tried to create the most realistic 'flag over flag' effect as possible. I tried also to render the brush strokes on the 'canvas', and finally I put a natural light source above it.
It's an all-photoshop-made multilayer, with 80% jpeg compression...
...and I'm quite proud of it...
So, be gentle and give a comment on it... I need all the support you can give me...
I think you did well. You had the idea, you made it. you followed a style, and did that. To let it be original were maybe not the mainthing about it, so what?
I like it, so does the rest of the ppl who have commented. Besides, you are proud of it - and keep being that! Once again - me likes
I think yours better! And I'm not fooling around
Because.... you placed the three flags of Italy in a certain -greatest (if I may say)- composition that makes the middle look exactly like this Columns in the Enchant roman forum in Rome!
You’re much better pop-art creator! ...and I'm not flattering it's just as is.
There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
